As soon as you are noticed by the world, there come expectations. Friends, family, loved ones expect you to be somebody .. to become successful.
Society's definition of success is fame, money, recognition, a great career and all of those good things. But can I be successful without any of those?
What if success in my books is related to how happy I am. What if happiness for me means laying in the grass under the stars. What if my version means creating art to spread some smiles? What if all I want is to be content .. what I am where I am.
In a world where success is defined by how much money you make, what if my only ambition is to be happy?
I'm often told that I'm bad at doing business. "Don't let people take advantage of you" .. "you trust too easy" .. "Did you ask for an advance payment on that?".
At the cost of sounding extremely stupid .. My high is doing good work .. which satisfies me. My high is interacting with people from different backgrounds. I'm MOST happy when I am able to put a smile on someone's face through something I created.
What keeps me going is not how much I made from a project .. but what I learned out of it. How it made a difference to an individual.
No paycheck can bring a smile to my face as big as the one I have when I get to travel.. meet interesting people .. make new memories .. lie down and listen to the sound of waves by the beach.
But Madi - travel requires money! Which you're not making enough of :)
