Coloring Book for Adults

On my birthday this year, a good friend of mine gifted me a coloring book. It has such pretty patterns and images - all inspired by the 'Amazon'.
I picked a pattern and started coloring in the lines with pencils. Since the patterns are so intricate and detailed, filling each tiny shape with pencils took much time and patience. So I moved on to another pattern - this time a forest theme with overlapping leaves and bigger, bolder shapes. I also used sketch / felt pens which made the process much easier.
I really enjoyed filling in different colors and just letting go - It was so meditative and helped me focus. I didn't worry about how it looked because I knew I was doing it for myself. No judgments and no critiques.
The first leaf I filled in was blue - because in my world a leaf is not necessarily green.
I tried keeping inside the lines as much as I could; but when I slipped, I didn't fuss. I just kept going.
Here is the pattern I came back to after the leaves. I did this will ball pens.
I highly recommend getting a coloring book for yourself. Give it a try. Just let go. Let your imagination take over :)
Madi tip - start off with fine tip sketch/felt pens.
And if you do try it, let me know your thoughts.
